As a computing teacher, I sometimes get pretty funny questions from students whom you know are very new to computers. Or perhaps, they just haven’t had the experience with text editors very much.

One question I often get from my students who use Windows for coding is this:

“Teacher, how do you remove this black thing? It’s annoying me!”

After I offer them the solution, they would quip, “Oh, just like that?”

Sometimes, they are extremely grateful. “OMG THANK YOU, CHER!”

Of course, I create this post all in jest. Love their innocent questions, and I know they will learn with experience!

For now, anyone knows how to get rid of this “black thing”? 😛
